So if possible, I really want a way to get rid of this popup so I can just read like a normal person Now I don't have $20 to pay for the pro version, and even if I did, I really don't want to reward the brilliant developers that harass their free users every five seconds and try to force them into giving up their money. I once again uninstalled and rolled back to the version before that version (5.19) and again, reloaded my library and went back to my book in hopes of being able to read it in peace and then was interrupted again. I'm certain that this pop-up wasn't there on the previous version I had, so I uninstalled the program and reinstalled the version before it (5.20) in hopes that I would be at a version without popups.Īfter reloading my library and going back to the book I was in, a few pages later I was once again greeted with the popup. Nothing seemed that different except for a very terrible and super intrusive popup that seems to appear every 2-4 pages that "encourages" me to upgrade to the pro version and makes me wait a full 10 seconds before allowing me to return to my book (and then 2-4 pages later, pops back up again). I ended up getting the newest version (5.24) because that's what was on the website (previously used an older version because I couldn't be bother to update it). That is, until recently, when I got a new laptop and had to reinstall all of my programs. Sure I don't have access to any of the cool premium features like creating folders to better organize my collection, but it does it's job and I've been happy with it. it provides a good managing system for me to favorite books, easily search for the one I'm looking to read, it remembers the previous books I have recently opened and where I left off, and lets me read books in a smaller window (for multi-tasking purposes). It can handle my large library of ebooks (900+ files) without being too slow. I've been using the free version of Icecream Ebook Reader for a few years now because I happen to like the program for a multitude of reasons. Tl dr icecream ebook reader has these terrible popups that interrupt your book every few pages and won't let you continue reading for 10 seconds, and i want to disable it because i swear there was a version that exists that didn't do this
